Care institutions & nursing homes
In a nursing home, residents' personal laundry traditionally ends up in the institution's central laundry stream — and that often comes at the cost of the things they hold dear. A favourite blouse falling apart at 90 degrees, a knitted jumper that shrinks, a pair of pyjamas that go missing or end up with the man next door.
With us it works differently. The nursing home is not our customer; the resident is — or his or her family. We collect the personal laundry on set days from a wash box or ironing box in the room or at reception, treat each item on the programme that suits the fabric, and deliver everything back individually — labelled, folded, into the resident's own cupboard.
For families this is a peace-of-mind solution: you no longer need to drive to the institution every week to pick up the laundry, and you can be sure that the blouse your mother or father is attached to comes back the way she or he is used to. For residents themselves, the return of an own cupboard with their own clothes is a piece of dignity that is often lost in the average institutional process.
We work across the whole of Haaglanden — for residents of nursing homes, care living complexes, small-scale residential settings and rehabilitation centres in Den Haag, Rijswijk, Voorburg, Wassenaar, Leiden, Delft and the surrounding area. Sign-up runs through the resident or an authorised family member; invoicing goes to the resident's private address or to the family. In some cases this can also be paid via a PGB (personal care budget).
